As I pondered what to share in my first blog post, I considered a number of opportunities that may be of interest to my customers: Solvo’s strategic methodology, highlighting a specific service, focusing on a technology platform such as Salesforce or Baseplan…

I assure you all this will follow, and I’m eager to create a forum here (and welcome guest bloggers!), but it seems appropriate to align the launch of my website with a few words about what led me to finally take the leap to pursue my long-term dream to provide fit-for-purpose business management consultation to small businesses.   

I’ve long followed Simon Sinek for his direct but insightful approach and passion to cull out leadership qualities that may lie latent in his listeners, and to challenge the cultural leadership norms often rampant in large corporate environments.  For the same reason, I follow Brené Brown because she challenges me to do something very difficult for me — to be vulnerable, and in doing so, to take risks and pursue knowledge.  

Recently, Simon Sinek stated, “Dream big. Start small. But most of all… start.”  While this may sound simple, to ‘just start’, it can often be the most profoundly difficult leap of faith when it comes to a big, dormant dream.  Last Fall I chose to ‘just start’ Solvo Consulting Services, and I have been so grateful for the support I received and partnerships I’ve formed already along the way.   To those of you involved — thank you.  I commit to the ongoing pursuit of growth, knowledge, and partnerships in integrity and to make any corner of any business I have the privilege to serve a little brighter.  In this new adventure, I will listen to my customers above my own assumptions, engage in thoughtful leadership, and apply my experience, network, creativity and any resources available to me to enable good organizations to do good things. 

So to my customers, my colleagues and friends, what deferred dream or nagging, unresolved problem could you move toward with a single action that may shift the direction of your life, or your business to more authentically align with your ideals, goals and the reality of your circumstances? I highly recommend partnering with those who will help you apply best practices, a discipline in strategy and planning and best in class tools as one step forward.

If I can be of any assistance or encouragement, it would be a privilege to lend an ear, partner with you or provide a positive nudge forward, with logical but hopeful energy.  I am so excited about the future of Solvo Consulting, and even more excited about the very real impact we can make for growing businesses.
